I just had the most emotional conversation with my parents. It was right after dinner, so I was just sitting on the couch and suddenly mom starts talking about me going to college in August. She knows perfectly well that I'm not really worked up about college and am contemplating taking a year off from school. So, instead of going back to school, she gave me three options.

1) Go to school. 2) Get a job. 3) Move out and live off of somebody else (her exact words, I might add.)

It's not like I haven't been looking for a job. Locally (and it's going to have to be locally, since I am without transportation in the middle of the day) there is NOTHING. Most jobs that come up now are being taken up by all the people that were laid off from Hurricane Ike last September-ish, and who in their right mind would pass up people with actual work experience and degrees over a freshly graduated high school student?

Also, and even my dad said this, you have to want to go to school. I DON'T want to. It's not like I'm NEVER going to school, it's just I want a break. If someone doesn't want to do something, they're going to fail at it, and in this case it's going to end up costing more money.

Option 3...like I'm going to do that. I feel bad enough not being able to help out with bills and stuff with my PARENTS.

I'm feeling very trapped at the moment. And when mom asked what I wanted to do, I told her "I want to do commissions and design clothes that I can sell on deviantArt until I AM able to find a job." You know what she said? "You will never be able to be successful and be able to make a living with that." It's not word for word, but that was the point.

So...I'm living in a house with a family that doesn't believe in me and that will kick me out in September. Fucking exciting.

But do you know what I'm going to do with all this? I'm going to prove them wrong.

As of now, I am doing commissions. Sketches, colored works, even t-shirts (since I've been wanting to do that lately), you name it. We'll get to discussing the price once we figure out what it is that you want.

With this money, I'm hoping to be able to MOVE THE FUCK OUT. I can't stay in a place where I'm looked down upon as someone who won't go anywhere in life unless I do what everyone else wants me to.
